Dear Chapter Leaders:

As you know, the Academy recently partnered with the Measles & Rubella Initiative to offer free resources promoting measles vaccinations in the clinical setting.  The materials include posters, postcards, stickers, and temporary tattoos designed by famed children’s illustrator, Sophie Blackall.  To date, over 700 orders have been placed!

The materials are now available for bulk order (ie, for members with multiple clinics or for chapters to order during meetings).

I encourage you to share the promotion below with your respective members.

Ivy + Bean…and the Measles

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has partnered the Measles & Rubella Initiative (M&RI) along with other stakeholders on an educational campaign to promote childhood immunizations – specifically the measles vaccine!  The campaign includes posters and related materials designed by famed author and illustrator Sophie Blackall for distribution in multiple venues, including the pediatrician’s office.  The posters feature the beloved Ivy and Bean characters in comic book scene style as they illustrate a lesson in getting vaccinated.  Materials are free of charge; for more information and to order resources, visit http://www2.aap.org/international/immunization/IvyAndBean/.  For members interested in bulk orders, please contact [email protected]directly for an order form.

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me at 847/434-7113 or by e-mail at [email protected]
